Overload

OVERLOAD is a work based on the concept of sensory overload. Upon entering a space filled with thick smoke, the viewer immediately loses their sense of orientation. The senses begin to function differently, under heavy strain.

Sight loses its dominance over the other senses, overwhelmed by rapidly changing light. Hearing is constantly deceived by a quadraphonic drone emanating from the corners of the room. The work, however, is not an opposite to a meditative retreat. Through sensory overload, one can come full circle and a deep relaxation becomes achievable.
